The Start of a New Month: Celebrating your Achievements

It’s the start of February 2024…here’s a concept I use with my coaching clients (and personally) on the regular:
List 10 achievements, celebrations or wins for the past month:
I'll go first.....
1. We hosted a bbq pool party for our eldest son starting high school.
2. I did face to face coaching with one of my coach peers.
3. We got to the beach 3 days in a row in a 4 day trip to Sydney.
4. I have upskilled in the basic training for doing Schwartz Rounds and connected with the team at Bathurst Health Service.
5. I started going to the gym on 15.1.24 and have really enjoyed regular strength training.
6. I made a VIP offer to existing and previous clients and 2 people said yes to the amazing deal!
7. I have connected with my co-presenters for upcoming Creative Careers in Medicine Conference in March .
8. I recorded four guest interviews for my podcast: Dr Roger Sexton, Dr Wendy Schofer, Dr Krystal Sodaitis and Dr Laura Cazier - such great content - stay tuned for release!
9. My husband and I booked a night away together in March - kids being looked after by family.
10. I said no to a speaking engagement request this month with a 13h travel time...
Doing this encourages us to start from resourcefulness and see what is going right. Rather than from a place of lack, scarcity and insufficiency.
What is a celebration?
Well that’s entirely up to you! It can be anything from moving your body, having a good night’s sleep, growing your self-awareness of your feelings or asking for help.
Celebrating your wins is one of the many strategies I share with coaching clients in their burnout recovery or prevention journeys. And it’s something I love to do myself on the regular.
From a neuroscience point of view, the feel good neurotransmitter, Dopamine, is released when we complete something, a goal, a to do list or completing steps towards something that is important to you.
Want to find out more about sustainable burnout recovery/prevention strategies? Book in a call with me via link in bio or bit.ly/brswithJo. It’s free, no strings attached and we meet via Zoom. You get to share what’s going on and what you want to change, there’s time for questions and we’ll see if it’s a good fit.
